One of the most common problems I see in the mental health community is NOT FINDING THE RIGHT THERAPIST! Believe it or not, this is NOT common knowledge. So many times, therapy FAILS on an individual, simply because they did not work with the right professional or right TYPE of therapy. What happens next? They quit going to therapy after the very first time! Remember, therapists are people too… so keep searching for the personality that works best for you! Don’t worry about hurting their feelings either. They won’t take it personally and will completely understand! Lastly, therapy can be quite challenging! Don’t mistake feeling “uncomfortable” with therapy as being “uncomfortable” with the therapist!
